Publication of the form for CESOP
The electronic form for reporting data to the Central Electronic System of Payment Information (CESOP) concerns payment service providers established in the European Union. CESOP is a centralised European database that monitors information on cross-border transactions. The aim of such a database is to facilitate the detection of tax fraud, in particular VAT fraud in e-commerce.
Payment service providers are obliged to keep records of payees of cross-border payments who receive more than 25 cross-border payments per quarter (per payee). They are then obliged to submit this data to the Financial Administration of the Slovak Republic via a template electronic form (uniform for the whole EU) no later than by the end of the month following the calendar quarter to which the information relates.
The Financial Administration of the Slovak Republic has published the electronic form for reporting data to CESOP in the catalogue of forms on the portal of the Financial Administration of the Slovak Republic. As the first reporting period was the first calendar quarter of 2024, information on cross-border payments was first submitted by 30 April 2024. The next reporting period will be the second calendar quarter of 2024, with the form submission deadline of 30 June 2024.
